Turkish music
nasreddin hodja is a famous folk philosopher who is a legend in turkish culture. his funny anecdotes have been transmitted from generation to generation. here is one of his anecdotes, maybe after reading it, the song might make more sense
one day hodja was washing his yogurt pot and pouring yoghurt remained in it into lake. some people wanted to make fun of him when they saw him,
- hodja, what are you doing?" one of them asked.
- i am fermenting the lake, i am gonna turn the whole lake into yogurt" hodja replied.
- can a little bit of yeast ferment the whole lake? sarcastically, the man asked while others laughed at hodja.
- you never know, it might, what if it ferments" hodja replied sarcastically.
so "ya tutarsa" (what if it ferments) is used for situations where one has hopes in hopelessness, roughly translated "what if it happens"
