"the seventh sally or how trurl's own perfection led to no good" is a science fiction short story by stanisław lem. originally from "the cyberiad", the adventures of the brilliant engineers trurl and klapaucius it was included in "the mind's i: fantasies and reflections on self and soul" a 1981 book composed and arranged by douglas r. hofstadter and daniel c. dennett. it is a collection of essays and creations about the nature of the mind and the self, tied together with commentary by the editors.
victim of the brain is 1988 docu-drama by dutch director piet hoenderdos, loosely based on the mind's i, that includes this movie adaptation of lem's "the seventh sally", here called "the perfect imitation".
