..........i crossed the strait of georgia with a friend today to victoria on vancouver island and had her shoot a video of the final approach in to victoria international (cyyj) in british columbia. little did i know that the controller who cleared me for landing had other plans. there was a westjet 737-700 in the pattern turning final for the same runway. i asked the controller what his plans were since he'd already cleared me for landing. he suggested he might make me do a 360 degree right turn on base if things got too tight, but this is what he had to do instead, since he needed all of runway 09 for the 737. letting me roll down runway 09 while a 737 was behind me was naturally not a good idea. take a look. my friend's camera hand was a bit shaky thanks to me, but i thought she did pretty good job of taking this movie.
