This is an older home-built copy of the original quad-405 hifi power audio amplifier, stereo, 200 watts output power. the distortion is ~0.01%, it can drive anything from headphones to 4-ohm 200w speakers. it uses patented current dumping which is both power effective and provides balanced feedback and feedforward which lead to near zero distortion over the whole audio range. i can recommend quad power amplifiers to anyone, because the principles behind the fantastic function are unbeatable. it will have ~0.02% distortion with poorest soviet(!) power switching transistors in output stages, and it also runs fantastically with 15khz capable slow germanium power transistors on output. and since the amp was built without any permission from the patent owner, i would like to thank them for more than 25 years of top quality hifi music that quad amplifiers provide by posting link to their site here.
